Keep your hair trimmed to take off any split ends. Once a week use a deep conditioner. When combing or brushing your hair, start at the ends and work your way up. Avoid styles that require "ratting".
Protect it from the sun and wind, use as little extra product (mouse, gel, etc.) as possible. Resist the temptation to play with your hair, winding it around your fingers etc.
Make sure you are eating healthy and getting plenty of exercise and rest.
