Tips on managing my 14mo olds curly hair?

If I let it air dry her curls will lock and look nice, but other than that, if she naps her hair looks like a monsters. Is there anything out there non damaging that maybe you can run through it with your fingers? or any tips?

I would just mist it down with water or spray conditioner after she naps. You wouldnt have to get it very wet. Then run your fingers through it. If it gets frizzy you can put a very very small amount of baby oil in your fingers and run through her hair. I also use silk therapy on my daughters hair.

Just continue what you are currently doing and keep her hair short. After she gets up, from her nap, just run your fingers through it a bit. At her age, she does NOT need a lot of 'prissing'.

My son has this problem as well it if air dries and nothing is rubbing on it in the mean time it looks great but if he wears a hat or takes a nap it gets nappy in the back and sometimes "fros" out. I use leave in conditioner so i can brush through it with out it hurting then i put a lil water to make the curls tight again.

I would make sure your using an adults conditioner on her hair (just make sure when your rinsing you dont get it in her eyes), can try braiding her hair when its wet, let it dry - wont be as curly, using a leave in conditioner (or use a spray bottle filled w water %26amp; conditioner) spray it %26amp; then try to run through ur fingers, also if you would like to let it air dry put a moisterizing mouse or gel on her hair designed for curly hair - it'll help hold her hair so it wont turn into a frizzy mess. Or when in doubt, ponytails work great.

My son has curly hair too. I have found a few things that work.

There is some spray called 'stay sol fro' that does not have any oils. It is conditioner and lanolin. You spray it on (wet or dry) and it makes hair look great.

There is a website for curly hair called www.ouidad.com and they have a children's product called KRLY for kids. I use the conditioner as a leave on. I have a friend with curly hair who uses it on her hair and says she gets compliments every time she does.

I myself have super curly hair and I have the same problem...

What I use is regular conditioner (Pantene for curly hair) and I wash and condition like normal...but then...

After my hair is towel dried, I put some more conditioner in it and let it dry naturally...it dries in perfect ringlets. and even after sleeping it still keeps it's shape..without being crispy from gel or "product".
