Any tips that make hair more shinnier and controlible?

Without buying products?

And does using cold water on your hair make it shinnier rather then using hot water?

Any tips that make hair more shinnier and controlible?

yes conditioning your hair in cold water makes it feel softer but its not really good for your hair it makes the conditioner build up on your hair so while it might make good for a while you can pretty much guarentee you will have some serious build up on your hair in a short time i recommend doing a hot treatment with conditioner ... take the conditioner put on your hair get a hot towel wrap it up put a dry one on top of it and let it sit 15 min and rinse throughly do that a couple times once a week and if will make for shiney healthy hair

First wash your hair. Then totally saturate it with baby oil. Let it sit for a minute, then wash your hair again and condition as usual.

Use warm water, not cold or hot, cold can make it more brittle and hot will make it dryer. using mayonnaise (NOT the fake stuff!) is good, slap it on there like you would do with conditioner once a week or so and let it set in for about 30 minutes than rinse out. Also, beer, poor beer all over your hair and let it sit about 30 minutes then rinse out. And then there's olive oil (do not use veggie oil etc, just olive) get a few tablespoons of olive oil, put it in a leak proof container and put it in a bowl of hot water until the olive oil is warm, put the olive oil in your hair, try to keep it away from your scalp unless you have a dry scalp, leave it about 20 minutes then shampoo and condition your hair as normal. Try not blow drying you hair as often, blowing it dry can make it frizzy. As far as products, don't use V05 or Suave, they are horrible for your hair as is most hairsprays. When you do buy products look for ones that have little to no alcohol in them and try some "ethnic" products. Hair products, even cheap ones, that are made for "black' or "ethnic" hair are MUCH better quality than the ones made for Caucasian hair.

I think my hair is just naturally shiny, so I never worried about this. But I have noticed that using a blow dryer or when girls use curling/straightening irons it makes it more dull looking. Hydrogen peroxide will make it shiny. The normal stuff they use to bleach hair is like 50% strength, I think. I used 3% (the stuff sold as an antiseptic) to bleach my hair from like a dirty blonde to a golden blonde, since I figured I could just apply it more times and have it be more even, which did indeed work. After just wetting mine with the 3% once a day for 2 days, I noticed it was getting more shiny, but wasn't really lighter at all. After probably half a dozen times doing this, it finally got as light as it is now.

Using the cheap 3% stuff sold as an antiseptic actually works quite well. It's cheap, like $1 for a bottle, you probably have some around, and it should be used up every couple years anyway since it naturally breaks down over time.

Controllable though, I don't know anything about that. Short hair like mine is always easy.
