You just put the dye on the ends of your hair.. if you want to fade it add a little less to the upper part of it and don't keep the upper part of the dye on as long.. if you want something really proffesional though you might want to go to a salon if you're nervous. I agree.. go to a salon
if you tried to do it yourself you'd have to get a brush to "paint" the color onto the ends and then wrap them up in foil or something.
It'd be way easier to have someone else do it.
