Purple is one of my favorite colors so I would say go for it! what color is your hair otherwise? It could look good if done right!

depends on your style - is it super trendy where you live, is everyone else doing it or is it just something unique to you?
Good thing is it's just the ends - they can be cut off if you don't like it. I'd start with just the tips and if you dig it, then go for a little more.
