Tips for poufy, slightly frizzy hair?

Any recommended products, tips, tricks, hints, etc. for poufy and a little frizzy hair?

Tips for poufy, slightly frizzy hair?

Dull, dry, brittle, and breaking

Hair that looks frazzled, frizzy and fried most likely is just that. We can do tremendous damage by using chemical dyes and permanents as well as by simply aiming the blow dryer at our heads every morning. Like being in the sun, all of these self-inflicted abuses destroy the cuticle and leave hair wide open to damage. Pulling hair into tight braids or ponytails can increase that stress and lead to breakage鈥攐r even bald spots. But in addition to being a cue that you need to treat you hair more carefully, unhealthy strands can also be an indicator of an unhealthy diet. Without adequate protein, growing hair strands won鈥檛 become as strong and resilient as they should be. And essential fatty acids (found in fish oil supplements, wild salmon, and flax seeds) may also play a role in keeping strands strong, shiny and healthy. If your diet is lacking in them, try increasing your consumption and see if your hair eats it up! Of course, what you eat can only impact hair that is just starting to grow, so it will be several months before any improvements are evident.

Don't wash hair as often--cover in a showercap every other day instead. Use a shampoo containing sodium laureth sulfate, as it's gentler on coarse hair. Make sure you let your hair dry under a towel for at least 20 minutes before blowdrying/heat styling. Use a cream based leave in conditioner, like Sunsilk's Anti-Poof (blue bottle).

Well if you use hot irons or anythign with heat that coudl make your hair get frizzy! If its just natural, always use condistioner! Even try the days your not going anywhere just putting condistioner in it and leaving it in all day, it works!

Now when you style your hair if you do use hot irons or a blow dryer or anythign hot again use heat protection but dont buy it to cheap or it wont work and afterwards add leave in conditioner!

And if your hair is super super frizzy try hot oil treatments they work so freakin good =D Hope this helped.

Pantene shampoo and conditioner...for "dry and damaged" hair. My hair is naturally curly, frizzy and poufy and I've been using Pantene everyday for years. it really does work. Also--take a multivitamin everyday....it helps your hair tremendously and makes it more shiny and soft. Stay away from gel in the tube...it just drys out on your hair and looks greasy.

Sounds like my hair. I use a ceramic straightener, i find one of the expensive ceramic ones works best (chi, clorioliss (comes in blue, pink, purple, black, grey - and 3 different types) etc.) but if you're not willing to indulge that much, a nice thin ceramic one from walmart should do nicely. I also use Pantene Pro-V shampoo and conditioner (any variety), and i also use 2 different hair product that would cost you about 20 bucks tops for the two of them. First, is PROFFESSIONAL SilkWorks (clear bottle, black top, black writing) and i also use Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine Serum. (both available at Walmart).

1. wash with shampoo

2. use moderate amount of conditioner (is AMAZING compared to any others, about dime sized 'glob' for shoulder length hair, rinse through, but not out completely

3. Light towel dry

4. Apply PROFESSIONAL SilkWorks (quarter sized drop for shoulder length hair)(also good for skin care)

5. Apply Garnier Fructis Hair Serum, 1 pump for shoulder length hair

** massage both thouroughly and evenly throughout hair (Pro Silkworks more on ends - to prevent heat damage, more Fructis on roots to help mainatin frizz, but both everywhere just apply initially in indicated areas)

6.Let hair drip dry, or blow dry on medium to low heat.

7. apply dime sized application of silkworksthroughout hair - focus on end of hair - slight amount on roots, particularly where hair will be "showing"

8. straighten hair in slow strokes of small sections of hair, if you need to let the sit for a minute to heat back up do it, high heat is key - steam coming off of your hair is perfectly normal, as a matter of fact, if there is no steam, then your strightener probably isn't hot enough. (may not be as much if you blow dry) hissing from the steam is also normal (just dont stay close to your scalp if you hear hissing, it can BURN YOU!!

9. Apply very small amount of fructis to "top of hair"

10. Style as usual, or leave it down, your hair will look and smell wonderful!!!

WARNING: rain = BAD no matter what, so if it is raining, try to cover it up,and that should help.

Whole process will probably take you about an hour at first, but with practice, this will diminish, if hair is already dry, process takes about 30- 45 minutes at first, but this amount of time will also lessen, as you get better at it / used to doing it. you gotta learn what exactly works for you.
